Our Universities Have To Go Offshore To Find Talent

Are they kidding me that these schools and universities can’t find sufficient talent from their own ranks. If that is the case then what are they turning out???

Because people here in the United States can"t afford to go to thesae schools! People in other countries get to go to these schools practicaly fo NOTHING! Let our kids go for free or little or nothing and then lets see what we turn out. There is alot of talent out there that doesn't even have a chance to go. Give them a try!!!!!

Be careful what you wish for, it’s just too easy to say that education, health-care, oil companies or whatever else were dissatisfied with should be nationalized. If the government ran or paid for our secondary education then it is only reasonable that they should not waste “our” tax dollars on things we would like to do. The government has never been able to constrain themselves and this would be no different. If they controlled the purse strings then you should only be allowed to take classes that they feel you are suited for.

If they control health care then they could decide to make it illegal to be overweight, which is what Japan did a month ago. After all, someone who is overweight costs the medical system twice as much as some one who isn’t. Why should they be a burden to the system?

As far as the oil companies are concerned Venezuela has some of the lowest oil prices, maybe we should follow the steps taken by Hugo Chávez and try to nationalize most industries for our own welfare.

I do believe that advanced education needs to be more accessible but the responsibility for educating ourselves and our children should remain with the individual.
